General

No. We are now specifically set up to process one side at a time, and this requires that each side of a job must be on a separate file.

2 FILES – 1FR, 1BK1 FILE – FR&BK

Not separating files will cause delays and you might have to send the files again. Remember to separate the pages of your .pdf files as well.

When creating a Spot UV job, you must include a Spot UV template file along with the regular print file. The Spot UV template file is used to show where the UV coating needs to be applied.

For better quality we recommend creating mask files in vector based programs such as Illustrator or CorelDRAW
Please only use solid 100% K (Black) to indicate where you would like the UV. Do not use shadows, glows or grayscale images. White will indicate no UV.

FOIL STAMPING

When creating a job with foil stamping, you must include a mask file along with the regular print file. The mask template file is used to show where the foil will be applied. Use 100% Black (K) to indicate where you would like the foil. Make sure to remove everything that will be foiled from the print file and have those items only on the mask file. This file should be a vector file.

DEBOSSING / EMBOSSING

When creating a job with embossing or debossing, you must include a mask file along with the regular print file. The mask template file is used to show where the embossing will be applied. Use 100% black (K) to indicate where you would like the embossing. This file should be a vector file.

Fast drying, water based, protective coating. Apart from fast drying AQ coating provides desired finish option to the prints. Comes in gloss, Matte and Satin finish. We offer Gloss and Matte AQ as our standard option. Satin will be a custom option.

Cannot be used on uncoated paper stocks.

Online Printing System is a prepress process that bridges the gap between online digital content and commercial print production. The process allows you to create, edit, and approve computer-based online templates during the prepress phase. This process increasingly calls for a Portable Document Format (PDF) workflow environment. It also enables corporate or team buying process seamless. You or your employees can order or reorder pre defined print products from any device anytime.

More often print buying process is challenging for induviduals and businesses. Creating an artwork for your project, choosing the right paper/material, placing the order and arranging for shipping/pick up can be time consuming and costly with the traditional process. With our state of the art web to print system seemalessly intergrates this process. Whether you want to print something for your personal or business need, you are able to do that in one place.

The type of paper used for difference purposes is expressed in weight. In the countries following the European system, it is grammes per square metre (gsm or g/m2 or simply g) and in the US system it is Pound (lb).

The paper used for writing/printing (letterheads and such stationery) is generally between 60 to 120 gsm (20 to 70 lb) and is called the paper or text stock. Anything heavier than this is considered the card stock, i.e. the paper used for business cards, postcards, greeting cards, etc.

Coated papers are available in two finishes – glossy (shiny and smooth) and matt (flat and lusterless). Coated glossy papers reflect the light evenly so they are suitable for almost all types of printing jobs. Glossy papers have a good ink holdout, which is important for creating sharp, bright images.

Printing

Bleed must extend past the cut-line and will be trimmed from the product during the final cutting phase. When the image is required to extend all the way to the edge, bleed is needed to preserve the finished look and the quality of the final product.

Please keep all text at least 0.125" inside the cut-line.
- The bleed for Standard Products is 0.125".
- The bleed for Booklets and Presentation Folders is 0.25".

Yes, but if the border is too close to the cutline, it may be cut off-center slightly.

We cut through many sheets at a time, so watch your borders to avoid an unwanted mistake.

Hi-gloss varnish using UV dryers. It makes the printes somewhat waterproof and hard to write on.

Spot or partial UV coating used as decorative or creative method.

Cannot be used on uncoated paper stocks.

Printfast. requires Print Ready files with proper rotation. Files submitted are printed HEAD to HEAD as-is based off your files.

Make sure to set up your files so that when we print them HEAD to HEAD the final product will read the way you would like. Also, front and back files need to be set up either both sides vertically or both sides horizontally correct and wrong ways

If you would like your back file to be upside down, please send your artwork as shown below.

If you have a fold-over or greeting card, please send your artwork as shown.

For files not properly set up, Printfast will use best judgment and will not be responsible for improper rotation.

Any transparency issue can be resolved before saving your file.

To prevent this, never use shadows, glows, or any other transparency (image or otherwise) on top of a spot color. Always convert your spot color to CMYK and flatten before sending.

SHADOWSGLOWSTRANSPARENCY

We are not responsible for these kinds of files being printed. Unless requested by one of our employees, DO NOT send files that you do not want printed.

Primarily used to intentionally overlap inks for a number of reasons, overprint can cause unexpected results. We suggest that you turn all overprint objects off before submitting your files.

ON SCREEN VIEWAFTER PRINTING

In this case the logo was set to overprint. The colors from logo are mixing with the colors from the background. Unexpected results may occur if you have accidentally set certain objects to overprint. Always check logos and other artwork before submitting.

The ink coverage or color saturation of a file can be determined by adding the values of the C, M, Y and K colors. For example, yellow in CMYK is represented by 0 C, 0 M, 100 Y and 0 K. If we add up the values, we arrive at a 100% occupancy (0 + 0 + 100 + 0). To form orange, we must add magenta. For example, you get 0 C, 40 M, 100 Y and 0 K. This gives an ink coverage of 140% (0 + 40 + 100 + 0). You can find more information about how to check the ink supply here.

Minimum ink coverage
We recommend not to go below 10% for the minimum ink coverage. Lower values can be printed, but these often give a bad result. You also have to take the paper type into account. For example, uncoated paper needs a higher ink coverage because the paper absorbs more ink than coated paper (more information on different paper types). If the ink coverage is too low, the colors may turn out somewhat dull. If the minimum ink coverage deviates from the standard, this will be mentioned in the design guidelines for that product.

Especially light colors (e.g. light yellow, light cyan or light magenta) often have a too low ink coverage.

Maximum ink coverage
The maximum ink coverage is in general 300%. Again, don't forget to consider the paper type. For example, we recommend not to exceed 280% when using coated paper. If you exceed the maximum ink coverage, chances are not all the ink will be absorbed by the paper and stains will appear.

Especially dark colors often have a too high ink coverage. This is because you add more K (black) to the CMYK color. To simply get the color black, you can best take 0 C, 0 M, 0 Y and 100 K, which amounts to an ink utilization of 100%. This is recommended for reading texts. For surfaces that need a richer black, you better take a different composition. For more information about the different shades of black

We offer many type of paper stocks. Most of the popular paper stocks are listed in our online store. If you don't find a paper stock you are looking for contact customer service. We carry brands and makes of paper.

Few of our paper stocks:

1. Uncoated/Offset

3. Matt/Silk Coated

3. Linen

4. Kraft

5. Metalic

Our system supports RGB (red, green, blue) for producing digital prints. We have accurately mapped color pallet to match RGB to CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, key) to ensure proper 4-color printing.

300 dpi (dots per inch) is the resolution of the output PDF file.

We use Digital, inkjet, letter press, sheetfed offset, web offset, flexo, screen, foil and themal printing. Which deliver the highest quality of print material for both text and images.

We recommend saving as a .PDF. You may also send the file in the following types: jpg, jpeg, tif, tiff, eps, and png. psd, ai, svg.

We prefer that you send .PDF with embedded or outlined fonts. .PDF's are easier to handle and will likely speed up your turn-around. Remember to flatten your files before uploading.

Images and illustrations are some of the most powerful and versatile tools a graphic designer has. In the field of computer-generated images, there are two main types: vector images and bitmap images.

Of course, professional designers do not need a reminder of how to use those types of images. But, beginners sometimes get confused.

Some of the file formats represents the bitmap and the vector.

Bitmap: .jpg, .png, .psd, .bmp, .jpeg, .tiff, .webP ((Please note that if you save a true vector file in this format it will be converted to a bitmap/image)

Minimum of 300dpi and CMYK colours are required to produce shape images

Vector: .svg, .eps (Please note that a bitmap file also can be saved in these formats. But they will not be true vector)

Vector vs. Bitmap: Which is better for Graphic Design?

There is no definitive answer to this question because the best type of image to use in a graphic design project depends on the specific usage.

Designers should choose the type of image that is best suited to their specific project needs. For example, if they need to create a logo that will be used in different sizes, a vector image would be the best choice. On the other hand, if they need to display a photograph with a high level of detail, a bitmap image would be the better choice.

Large Format Signs/Banners

Please be aware that the corrugated flute structure on our Coroplast Signs results in a very subtle linear effect (faint lines) on the product's surface. This is normal for this product.

Our banners, signs and car magnets are produced using wide format inkjet technology in 150dpi. This print technology is not compatable to offset litho printing. The viewing distance for most signage is designed for viewing from a minimum of 8 feet or more. This is industry standard.

Large signs/banners are printed using inkjet technology and prited in 150 dpi. Depends on the size and the colour of the elements they may not be printed sharp. Avoid using small text and elements in your design. Adding a high contrast background also will help.

Please contact customer service and discuss before placing the order.
